Default Snorkle?

I looked and could not realy find an answer to my specific question.

Those of you with snorkels have you noticed a difference in performance and or mpg?

Thanks

I don't have a snorkel. But I have heard that the snorkel eats air filters. The reason I was told is. The intake is out in the open & isn't shielded any by the hood etc. so debris (dust) is more easily sucked into it.

That's the biggest bunch of hooha I've ever heard. If you believe it, I've got a '88 S-10 truck I'll take $500,000 for. It's sweet, too.

Ummm... Not really?
I just know that after doing a few thousand miles through the Khalahari Desert my air filter is still the same as when I went in whilst guys in other cars have a whole heap of sand and dust in theirs..

Clean air in engine is friend.
Oh and I wasn't refering to other jeeps when I said cars. Kittens live to die another day.
Haha

Performance wise - no.

The main benefits are:

1. A mental insurance policy for when wheeling in mud & water
2. The Jeep looks like it means business
3. The Jeep still reads RUBICON, unlike some other snorkels
