I agree, some of them look like a big slug stretched across there. At least theres choices.

The AEV is the ticket for compatibility with our off-the-shelf kits, but we can put packages together if our regular kits aren't compatible with your snokel, hemi or supercharger.
The AEV is compatible with GEN2 RIPP Superchargers

I'm curious about performance. Is a River Raid or AEV snorkel comparable to lets say, an AirRaid or Banks intake?

I think you will get a lot of opinions on this issue, but not many provable facts. I've yet to see any real objective evidence that CAI's (which is a complete misnomer because they pull hot air from the engine bay) add any real performance gain. A snorkel, however, absolutely pulls cold air into the motor and absolutely provides real protection from hydrolocking that is not provided by the stock box or the aftermarket "CAI" intakes.
