Default Snow tires

I want to replace my factory 17" tires on my 07' Sahara Unlimited. I'm looking for snow tires or all season. Any suggestions?

I'm using Winterforce M+S's for the Winter.. they're quite good so far and the price is great. Check out the Tire Rack to see reviews.

We've got some nice storms here in Nova Scotia and they performed very well.

Default snow tires

Ditto on the winterforce, I've got a set on the wife's S4 wagon; they are excellent snow tires, like you're driving on rails....

Highly recommend.

I shopped Discount, tirerack, bigo, etc... tire rack had by far the best pricing...

We were discussing this same subject today. We were talking about what is the best tire for all season and snow. I would be very interested in what you all think. I'm not talking price or bargains, we aren't ready to buy yet. What I want to know is what is the BEST on/off road and snow tire out there for winter driving (no rock crawling involved). How does one know? You can't test drive every brand all you can do is ask the tire dealers and of course whatever they sell is the best. So who do you ask? How can you be sure one is better than the other?

What`s the best...this might be one of those questions that just are impossible to answer. So many things affecting and most importantly most of our vehicles are not alike. And everyone drives their own style, and road conditions are not alike. Of course it has been proven that major companies that invest large amounts of money for research and testing usually has best performing tires, but it´s allways a compromise.
Two years ago i gave up my habit to have different tires for both seasons. Just by adjusting my driving habits i am able to manage with one set of tires 365 days a year. Of course i have to slow down during snowy season but thats just more fun i think.

I've found my stock BFG M/T's do great on snow and ice. The aggressive tread gives it a nice bite in the snow. But we don't get a ton of snow, so your experience may vary.

I did a lot of long hard research on this very subject -- a winter tire that's also good off-road. To me, there was only one -- the Toyo M-55. It's a 10 ply tire that can be siped and studded. It's very popular with the forestry and oil guys up north. It has a bullet proof sidewall, can haul and carry loads (E-rated) if it's not siped too deep, lasts 50-80ks, is great on logging and side roads, good in snow (lots of spacing between lugs), good on ice (with studs), and good on wet & dry pavement (siping improves grip a lot - definitely recommended).

Edit: They're also non-directional, so you can do a full 5 tire rotation.

The downside are... There are no sidebiters like standard M/Ts, if you stud them, then you can only use them in winter, they're rather loud on the highway (think semi trailer kinda noise), and if you can't find a place to sipe them, you gotta do it yourself.

Here's a picture of 'em...

So Far our stock BFG MT KM's have been great after we got them siped. decent ice travel, great snow traction, mud of course is great, road noise is minamill (what ever), if you do rocks with the siping they are very suprising.

Can I buy the winterforce tires locally or are they only available online?
