I got a phone call from a gal at UPS Freight yesterday. My RR XHD rear bumper and tire swing are to be delivered tomorrow. She said the weight on the shipment was 250 lbs????!!!!! I knew the set up was gonna be heavier than stock, but is it really THAT HEAVY? Or is it just the weight class for the shipment??

 

Some vendors ship their bumpers in box frames made from 2x4's to prevent shipping damage. This and the box itself can add quite a bit of weight (upwards of 40-50 lbs)...

My Expedition 1 bumper and tire swing weighed 160 lbs, but the ship weight was over 200 with the packaging.

 

My shipping weight was 175lbs. 3 boxes, 1 for center stubbie portion, 1 for ends and 1 for hoop. Hoop was only 10 lbs. It came in factory cardboard boxes with a ton of foam sheets, shrink wrap and styro blocks.

I think you got miss quoted on weight.

 

I sent RR an email to get the actual weight when I bought mine a long time ago and here is what they sent

11546.20 108 lbs bumper
11546.22 85 lbs carrier


Incase you were wondering here are the weights of some the front XHD pieces I also asked about

11540.10 63 lbs
11540.12 55 lbs
11540.14 9 lbs

 

I just installed this same setup a week and a half ago. The bumper had a sticker that read, "over 70 lbs" while the swing didn't say specifically.

I didn't weigh it but for a guess I'd say it's under 150 lbs assembled.

I just got my xhd bumper in last week. It came fedex ground ( no freight ) and it was just packaged in cardboard with no crate around it. The UPS people are BS'ing you. The whole setup should weigh about 180


I also kept all the styrofoam from the boxes to build my micro rock crawling course
