I have 3.21's and 35's on my 2013 with a 6 speed, I figured it would be liveable, however after a bit of wheeling and with living in a hilly area, I am going to be ordering 4.88's for mine. I can't use 6th gear even doing 80mph down the interstate, I can barely even use 5th

I have had for the past year 35's and 3.21 on a two door sport for the past year. It's not great once I get on the level I can get 5th back. I use 4th alot. It's not horrible. I got them know it would be uncomfortable a little and that's what I got. I love the looks and all. I would suggest getting them personally knowing someday you will regear. That's where I'm at now I'm going 4.88's with locker in the rear.

I live in Albuquerque which is about 6500 ft in elevation where I'm at and I have been running 35's for about a year now on my 07 JKU with 3.21 6 speed I don't know what there guys are talking a about but you don't lose 5 gear even in this altitude it's rough but bearable and be prepared to be in 4lo almost at all times offroad especially if you are doing any crawling. I'm just a poor military guy but I agree with these guys when they say as soon as its in your budget go 4.88 or 5.13. Good luck man

I have a 2011 JKU with 3.21's 35's and a 4" lift..I think it's doable and I lost 6th gear but not 5th?.. Also I went from 19c 21h down to 16c 17h so I'd say just do it and save money up for a re gear.

Another issue running larger tires and higher gearing.....
One thing that has not been mentioned yet in running larger tires and higher gears is the fact that you will have to be lighter on the clutch when starting out...especially on an upward incline or when carrying extra weight. This will cause the clutch to wear faster. BUT, with some skill you can get the hang of it and minimize the wear. It will only happen in first gear and when starting out. This is because in other gears you can match RPM's and/or do not have to "feather" the shift.

Come out and take mine for a spin. It's not terrible but it's bad enough that you'll at least consider a regear. I've got 4:88's in the garage, I just gotta get around to getting them installed!!

Y'all are on drugs. 35s +3.21 with 6spd 3.8 in the state of PA sounds awful.
35s + 3.73 was tolerable on the coast of NC, but it drove me nuts in the mountains of VA. Forced me to regear and I wish I had done so sooner.
Either go 33s or save for a regear.
