I am trying to understand all the options available to me regarding soft tops for my 2-door 2014 Rubicon. I have spent a lot of time researching this, and I am honestly not getting the info I require from either Mopar or Quadratec sites. They do not explain the difference between a $1800 top and a $1400 one. All they do is list a different part number with the same description. How can one make a decision based on this? If I am going to drop that kind of money I want details! Please help.

 

Posting links to the tops in question would help. Is the more expensive one a better fabric, like does it say twill?

 

I would first try and look for a OEM top off Craigslist. A lot people get the dual top and sell the soft top... I picked one up for $800. for my JKU.

things I would look for, make sure the front section will flip open, it comes with all the hardware, door surrounds etc.
not sure of the $1800 price but there is this one for $1023 that is very close to the factory one... Best top does make the Mopar one so other then the Mopar name I'm not sure if there's much difference Mopar is $1599... maybe it's made of a little better material..?

Only difference I can see is the color and fabric. What does that mean??? I'll check Craigslist, but very disappointed they don't explain more on the site. This is a basic need for any jeep owner. DETAILS PLEASE!

Yeah the premium is the twill. It is a high end fabric rather than vinyl like the regular one.

 

The premium one is suppose to be a stronger longer lasting fabric, that said i have the cheaper of the two on my wife's jk, and it seems to be great so far had it about 6 months now!

 

Most likely it's the fabric.

I've seen brand new tops on CL still in the Mopar boxes for as little as $300. Don't buy a new one

 

The top end soft top is the Twill.
It should not be anywhere near $1800.00.

I got one in July (new) for $1500.00 up here in Canada.

I've owned a few convertibles, the last 2 being BMW's, I can say that this top is as good as the Bimmers for sure.
