Solid Axle Hub conversion at sema- Pictures added
I love the idea of this kit .
Bearings are so much nicer to change than the whole unit bearing! Also it will void your warranty but you will be getting chromoly inners and outers with new bearings!!

That's true. Or even the front Axle shaft. I wonder if we could get Puddlz to do a write-up on it.
Oh wait. That's not actually true. You most likely still need to remove any broken parts, ummm I think

although the new axles come with a lifetime warranty from what I was told.
Hate to sound stupid, but what exactly are we talking about here? Putting old school lockout hubs on? isn't that just more parts to break? I've heard of more people having damage to hubs then axles. I'm not sure I understand the benefit here? I could see the benefit in 2 wheel drive around town, but who cares about that. Not trying to argue, just don't understand.... I know that locking hubs were stronger then the auto locking hubs, but we don't have that problem.
I'm starting to think more about this... how would it work with our set up? when you unlocked the hubs, would our front driveshaft still rotate in 2-hi? If it wouldn't then I think this would be worth it for me to save wear and tear on my front Aussie, and to not have it popping and scaring the kiddies in the parking lots
also would probably be less drag/resistance at hi-way speeds and probably get a tad better mileage right?

you mean like put it in 4 low with out the hubs locked? that would be good if you needed slow torque on pavement... this is starting to sound better. more versatile it seems.
