Solve Rubbing Issues? Lift or Spacers?
Hey all,
Quick question...i just upgraded my Tires to 33's and I am running stock Sahara 4dr JK.
I have slight rubbing when my steering wheel is cranked.....I want to get rid of that.
Do I?
A) buy 1.5" spacers and solve problem
or
B) do a 2" lift (body or suspension)
or
C) something else?
I dont want to spend a lot of money right now....have too many other things on the go with the house etc.....
What's your recommendation?

i just did the same thing to my 4 door sahara about a month ago. i put on 33's and then there was rubbing when fully turning the wheels left and right. mine was only rubbing on the plastic air skirt that is under the front bumper. i just trimmed the plastic and it is ok now. i didn;t need any spacers or BL's to fix the problem. i actually think it would still rub on the plastic air skirt if i added a small lift anyway. check the skirt and see where it is rubbing.
Wheel spacers, rims with better offset, or there have been several posts about cranking something in a few turns (I don't recall which component) to limit your turn radius a bit more.
Steering stops. I did that, and it worked like a charm. I have the 275's though, which are wider than stock, but not as wide as some 33's.

5 Cragar soft 8s with the appropriate backspacing and a leveling kit or just front spacers can likely all be paid for by the sale of your existing wheels. It will widen your stance a little, end the rubbing and have your jeep sitting level.
