wheel spacer mean is tire will be more outside placed?

i mean set up wheel spacer is for when i lift up, to get stable and rolling resistance ? as making tire placed wider position?

if i put 285 70 r17 tire.. do i still need aftermarket tire carrier?

You use wheel spacers to correct the back spacing of the factory wheels with bigger tires so that the dont rub against the suspension
