Sound Bar Options
Still driving my Grand Cherokee, but stopped in the dealership to set up a time for cheap oil change with their coupon. Stopped by the showroom floor to pick up a 2008 JK brochure and sit in one.
Man that rear speaker bar really makes that back seat seem claustiphobic! I'm only 5'10 (on a good day) and that speaker bar seems to be right there when you are sitting in the back seat.
I've never thought Jeeps have had great head-room, in either of my JGC's. I frankly wish the whole roll bar assembly was two inches higher.
Is there an option to move the speakers behind the rear seats? Any after market replacement speakers to take the place of the bar? I'm thinking of all those little cube's speakers out there now.
I still have to believe that the engine bay can hold a V8 and still get good crash stats. I know people say all that extra room is for crash-crush, but a 08 GC was in the showroom too, and it doesn't have near the area in front of the engine. (Body-on-frame versus unit-body?)

I don't sit in the back seat, and many adults won't sit back there for long, so no worries about the sound bar. You move it back behind the rear seats, and you won't hear it with the top down.
