Default Spacer problem

Put on G2 spacers and I am having issues. Major vibrations uneven ride and of course no one will work on it. Having them removed today. Just thought I would share my troubles...

Could these retainers be the issue? If they were not removed, the spacer may not seat properly.

Another potential problem is the actual installation. Were the spacers step-torqued or was each nut run down and that's the end?

Share your troubles but share the rest of the story too. There's plenty of "spacers will cause you to crash, roll, burn, and die" threads already because of improper installation.

I am betting an install issue not a spacer issue. Spidertrax has well written, easy to follow instructions. I know when I did mine I was anal and slowly increased the torq in criss cross pattern until fully torqued. Mine are smooth as silk with my toyo open country tires.

I wonder if it is a tire problem? did you put new tires on at the same time?

Are they hub centric spacers. If not get hub rings. I had to even buy hub centric rings for my rims because they wernt centered on the studs. Studs will not keep a wheel centered.

I even bought the cheaper Rough Country spacers, but used a torque wrench, thread locker, and made sure that everything was tightened down correctly and haven't had a single issue. No change in ride quality at all. The only difference is that now I can turn my front wheels all the way to the sides without rubbing anything.

Jeep gods are looking out today, went to discount tire to tell them to take em off, turns out bc they are bolt on they were able to check them out/retorque. I was really surprised. Guy said a few of the nuts weren't torqued properly and my tires weren't quite balanced. Rides a lot better now and I feel a little safer knowing a professional looked at it.

As far as the install the clips/washers were already removed, that was the first things I checked, guess I just did a piss poor job. Lesson learned.

lol same thing happened to me. I got my Spacers and installed and tires rotated at discount tire. Vibration in the steering and a little wobble. I had my mind set it was the spacers but turned out to be unbalanced tires.

Don't feel bad about that. I rotated my tires once and forgot to go back and tighten down the lug nuts on the front wheels after they were back on the ground. Seemed fine the first day or so, then I noticed what felt like tires out of balance. Then it got even worse, rather quickly. I pulled off the highway and had one front wheel with just 2 studs left. The other front wheel had 3.

Needless to say, I've been extremely careful about double checking everything since then.

Edit: This was several years ago, long before I put on the spacers...
