Default Spacers?

I hate to ask a question that has already been asked but I can't seem to find the answer. I am getting 33x12.50r17 Mickey Thompson baja mtz tires. I have a 08 2-door X. Will I need spacers. (Thinking I will-maybe 1.25 inch) thanks. Vehicle is stock at this time.

I have 4k miles on my spidertrax (including some hard trail use) and have never had an issue. I check them about every 1k miles and not one bolt has come loose (lots of red loctite as well).

I'm sorry about this, but why do we need spacers when we are upgrading to a larger tire? I know its a very newbish question to ask.

Because in most cases the taller tires are also wider. the width is where the issue is, with the inside of the tire rubbing on the suspension. If you were to go taller only say a 33/10.50 then you could probably get buy with no spacer, but since most 33" tires are 12.50" wide (2.5" wider than stock) they tend to rub.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't know that would happen. I am definitely getting spacers then with my lift and tires now.
