That is correct

My "assertions" were to get everyone to understand my question. I have no intention to load my jeep in this manner. But offroad things sometimes compress to the bump stops. I just want to know exactly where I need to be concerned.

Don't be sorry, my gf calls me a bonehead everyday!

I have PMed you.

Personally I don't see bump stops as a protection of the springs, they are more of a insurance to protect your other components of teh vehicle, such as shocks, brake line, and body panel in case your tires flexed on to the body and etc...

Thanks, MBATF.

For everyone thats been watching:
It appears that a spacer less than 1 inch should pose no problem for spring over-compression.

Well I had the feeling this was more of a community discussion, since it was posted IN the community and all. Kinda makes others feel left out. That's alright though. My dollars can work the same way.

You are right. Sorry.

This is what I PMed him with..

Basically by adding 1" or less spacers to your rig is to level out your rig, and really won't make that much of difference on the springs compression. You won't damage the springs by over compressing them with our vehicle weights. Unless you kept fully compressed for long period of times and cause memories to the springs.

After all bumpstops gets compressed as well when u go offroad.

I have known people go wheelin with no bump stops or limited straps, and their springs are fully compress every time they flex. After all springs will eventually sagged in years, and there is no way telling when.

I hope this would answer some of your concerns.

Best regards

Dave.
