Default Spacers under winch

Just test fit a Warn Zeon winch on Poison Spyder Brawler Lite and the edges of the winch is rubbing the bumper. Its also not sitting flush on the fairlead bracket.

Poison Spyder sells some spacers for exactly this and I'm sure its great but if I can do it with some washers that'd be even better! "Need" to get this on quick

So my question is, from a strength perspective are washers as strong as the spacers? Any caveats to using washers over the PS spacers?

I'm sure PS wouldn't have gone through the trouble of making exactly those spacers when washers from your closest home depot could do the trick, no?

I would expect there to be somewhat of a strength deference, while I'm not familiar with the spacer it's likely hardened steel and most washers are not

Makes sense... Maybe I can use the factory bumper backing plates instead, they look about the right thickness and have holes already in them

Backing plates are probably hardened steel right? Not very good at judging metal..

Not sure how hard steel used in the automotive industry gets, but with knives I use a file to test if needed. Typically a file won't bite into hardened steel the way it will something like mild steel. But for all I know the spacer may not even be hardened lol it just seems likely

Just an update. Used the factory bumper spacers and it was super quick and fit perfectly. Solid on winch duty as well.
