Default Spare tire carrier options question

I'm putting on 16 inch atx artillary wheels with 35 BFG KM2s and I'm wondering what my most cost effective option for a spare tire carrier would be... Not sure if the extenders are safe for the tailgate and I don't want to put a new bumper on. Thoughts/experience?

The Teraflex carrier sounds like what you're looking for. Recent thread you might search about it, and check out their site.

On two different rigs I have ran a 37 on the stock carrier with daystar stops and a inner gate brace kit from 4wheelparts.

I have ran 35s on ally other JKs on the stock gate with zero problems. A good load range C 35 and aftermarket wheel is often not much heavier than the stock wheel and tire. There is a bit more leverage from the offset on an aftermarket wheel but not enough to matter.

X3 on the TF. Expensive but peace of mind is worth something.

Never heard of anyone running a inner gate brace. Anybody else running that set up with a 37?

Just my experience but I have the smittybilt oversized tire carrier my jeep is an 08 and it's been on there since 09 I have 37" tires with alloy 18" Incubus rims my gate doesn't sag rattle or show any signs of any issues I have put plenty of miles on bouncy dirt roads and not had one problem I know it's a lot of weight for the gate but having no problems myself I could only recommend it to others based on my own experience
and for price I don't think you will find a cheaper option at $120 jmo Click image for larger version
