I saw the video very briefly (fwd a lot), but didn't know if I HAD to buy the more expensive one. Like if it had a spacer that was a necessity because of a larger tire

I went with just the TF hinge. Using Hyline Offroad's spacer and third brake light ($70) with the OE carrier. Cheaper route, Saved the $130 I would of spent on the TF carrier.

Spare is now off and it looks naked. Sad face. Now to decide between AEV bumper with tire carrier, LOD bumper with tire carrier, or the TF hinged carrier. Probably leaning towards the TF (wasnt expecting this in the budget quite yet) but I know I'm going to regret it later. I have wanted that AEV bumper since I started modding. I need to decide soon because I'm embarrassed to drive it without something back there.

Ps thanks for the pics k0260.

The TF carrier gets some awesome reviews, but I say hold out for what you really want. You know you'll just end up getting that AEV in the end anyway. I run around without a spare because im not sure which carrier i want yet (i strap my spare down in the bavk whem i hit the trail)...i dont think it looks bad at all. Just my .02

Yeah I guess that's an option too. I would probably get a tramp stamp though. I just know I would be fighting that spare in the back since I have a 2dr.

This is the route I decided to go with. Install was relatively easy. I did most of it myself. Just a couple parts where I asked my girlfriend to assist, but only to lean on the side of caution not to scratch paint. So far I think this has resolved the issue, but I will definitely be keeping an eye out for a week or two for signs of failure. If anyone has any questions about the teraflex hinged carrier feel free to pm or post! Thanks for your feedback!

Here is mine so far it is great. Time will tell. I like the simplicity and how light it is. Any thing you can do to keep the weight down. I am a bit skeptic about the tire on the gate. Bet Tera has a lifetime warranty and say it has been Thoroughly tested.
