Default Speed adjustment

Just put 32" Kumho 16" tires on. Had stock 16" Goodyear wranglers now I have 265/75/16s

Do I need to have the dealer adjust the speedo?

thx

Your dealer will only be able to calibrate your speedo to match 255's or 32" tires. Your 265's are a bit bigger and I don't think they will be able to help you out. However, this will so long as you have a Rubicon or Sahara....

Kumho Venture MT KL71 265/75/16 = 31.9"

According to kumho, its 31.9"....which, is close enough to not being more than 32".

IE: I think the stealership will be able to do it.

I checked on getting mine done at the dealer and they said they could, I just don't have time to take it down there. I did the same thing (225/75R16 up to a 265/75R16) and according to a chart I looked at, when the speedo says 70mph you're actually doing 75mph. I confirmed this with my wife following me in our Liberty. So, yes, I would get it done....or just try to remember not to speed!

Which dealership are you using JK-KJ? I just recently moved to Hoover and was wondering which dealership is a good place to get work/warranty stuff done around here. Thanks in advance!

I bought mine from Benchmark Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge on Grant's Mill Rd. off of I-459, and that's who I use...it's a nice, big 5-star dealer and most of the people are really nice. My buddy bought his '08 Rubicon from Don Drennen in Hoover on hwy 31 and had a good experience, but has no experience with the service department so I'm not sure about them.

Man, I wonder if the dealers are able to flash our computers for any bigger tires yet. Considering mine are on order now, looks like it is time to call the Dealer.

Keeping my fingers X'd.

Wow. Just contacted THREE different dealers in my area. All of them replied with, "We will not know in advance of what size tires we can re-flash the computer with until we get the individual vehicle on the tuner." At least they are charging under $120 for the reflash.

This makes me sad. I guess I will be a guinea pig and pray they are able to gimme at LEAST the 32" setup for the Rubi. Something about Dealers and "stock gear ratio's, Etc, etc" that make me wanna get the HypeTech programmer NOW.
