Speed Sensor Or...
(07 Jeep JK Rubicon, 2.5in teraflex, 35in tires) So today I decided to correct my toe alignment and after I fixed my steering wheel position using a procal on level ground. (my driver's side tire still looks like it's more toed out than my passenger side but that's a problem for a different day). I took it for a test drive in the parking lot after and even though my steering wheel was dead center, I'd drive it maybe ten feet and the skid light would come on and lock my rear brakes. I toggled the ESP off killswitch and the jeep drove fine, but the ESP/BAS and ABS lights would come and go.
I got home and plugged in the code reader:
U1417: implausible left wheel distance signal received
u1027: left rear wheel speed sensor signal erratic performance
C102a: left rear wheel speed comparative performance
C1043: left rear tone wheel performance
U0184: lost communications with radio
I cleared the codes but the U1084(radio) doesn't clear. It's an aftermarket radio, but it has the CAN BUS compatible harness and is still powered and working fine (never had that error code until now). I checked the wheel bearing and it seems fine, so it's all pointing towards the speed sensor. I haven't driven it since clearing the codes (had a few angry beers). I just wanted to get a few opinions before I go out and buy the speed sensor.
1. Why would the radio throw a code during all of this?
2. Is it just bad luck that this happened while I was messing with the front end?
I'm going to drive it to work tomorrow and I'll let you know what happens... Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I'm new here
