Default speedo question

I recently put 33's on my 2dr jk and understand that know the speedo is off....
To correct this the dealer has quoted me 80$... does that right?

dont they simply have to "flash" the speedo to a rubicon?
educate me here

Basically, all they do is go in and reset the computer to a different tire size.
As long as it is one of the stock tire sizes. As far as i understand it, in your case, they would probably set it to 32" (which is as close as they can presently get because that is the largest available stock tire size)

Explain it to them this way.....by not flashing the computer, the mileage part of the warranty will be extended since the speedo will be reading slow. I'll bet they do it for free

I have 33's on my Rubi and I don't think they're that much off since it had 32's stock. I was radar-ed by one of those portable radar trailers the cops set up on the side of the road and the display had the same reading I did. If you have smaller tires, it would make more of a difference.
