Default Spinning tie rod nut

Taking off the stock tie rod. One of the end nuts is not quite off and my wrenching is just turning the ball in the socket. I see the stud (?) takes an allen wrench. It's between a 6mm and an 8mm and I'm hoping when my neighbor gets home he has a 7mm and that's the size I need. Anyone know?

take your floor jack and put it under the TRE to keep the taper tight. You'll have no problem taking the nut off
