SPOD switch location..
Need some ideas of where to place an SPOD other then over the mirror.
I've got a tuffy overhead console which is preventing me from putting it in the standard location.
Can i mount the switches vertically on the A pillar? Or maybe above the speaker to the left of the steering wheel?
Thanks
Steve

The only A-pillar mounts I've seen are 4 switch. My sPod is 6 switch and I believe they also make 8 switch ones. I saw another member a while back get the generic switch panel from sPod instead of the Jeep specific one and mount them recessed above the left speaker. I'll see if I can find a pic.
Edit: Here it is...

I'm not sure but it looks pretty easy. Cut a hole, slide them in. I would guess either pressure fit or a retainer on the back.
Edit: From this pic it looks like pressure fit...

ive got this one Rugged Ridge A-Pillar Switch Pod for 11-17 Jeep Wrangler JK | Quadratec and this one http://www.quadratec.com/products/12500_243X_PG.htm
I had a standard JK sPOD and bought this from sPOD and moved the switches over. If you want to buy a customized system I can help you out.

Steve,
We do have many options but it all depends on your Jeep and what options it has. EG: Rubicon, Sahara, What year it is, etc etc.
Yes our 6 switch modular panel would fit on the left side of the steering wheel as long as you do NOT have a Rubicon.
Yes our 6 or 8 switch modular would fit under your steering wheel.

Another option is putting the modular directly into the Tuffy overhead as shown below:

The other option is our self contained 6 switch panel which can be mounted on the Tuffy overhead console.

And then of course the most popular option and the easiest to install is our SE system with the touchscreen:

As with all of our systems, everything comes with the kit! Everything comes pre-wired and ready to install with all mounting hardware.
We are a California based company which designs, engineers, manufactures, assembles 100% of all our products in the U.S.A.
Let me know if this helps, feel free to call us any time for more info:

Have been following this thread since it started. I currently have the 6-switch set up between the visors, but it's great to see some nice alternatives. I had steered clear of the tuffy overhead for the same reasoning, but i actually like the idea of either mounting the panel in the overhead or to the left of the wheel.
