Spring retainers - when to use

Gotta question I wasn't quite able to find the answer to regarding when do you require spring retainers? I have the OME HD coil and shocks. Is this something I should consider installing or it this more for LT set-ups?

if you ever plan on flexing, then i would use them.

Depends on how long your shocks are and how much droop you get. Retainers are cheap insurance against losing your springs out on the trail.
