Default Sprint Booster

Anyone install a Sprint Booster?

Just got mine today. I already have a max energy hypertech programmer and several other perfermance mods.

My question is does the red light alway remain on or will it eventually shut off? I drove it for a little while but so far I havent seen it shut off. Wouldnt it eventually hurt my battery? Wouldnt the light wear out at some point? Seems a little strange to me that I would have to turn the switch on and off each time I use it???

It seems to make a difference but I should know more after a few days of messing with it. I will report back then. My first opinion, keep in mind I have only driven three miles with it is; it makes a differnce that you can clearly feel however $300 plus dollars is a bit expensive for something of this nature. Also was a bit dissapointed/shocked to see that its made by a company in greece that has zero support here in the USA. Also it says 5 minutes to install. While its not rocket science its hard as hell to get to.

So what can we expect for a real world install time.... For normal people not professional mechanics? Also if you could go back in time... Would you buy it again for $300?

Thanks

Just got mine today, so far it's awesome as far as the throttle response goes, Jeep shifts smoother with the 6 speed, pricey? yes, would I buy it again? yes, is it worth the money? to me it does.

BTW the Sprint booster light will shut off about a minute after you turn the ignition off.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the light info.

To the other question: Would I buy it again if I could ? I dont know yet. As you know the 3.8 is a dog especially with 35's or bigger. We need everything we can get just to keep up with the flow. I will report back today after I drive it around for 25 or so miles.

My jeep is pretty respectable. I have 35's, cold air intake, throttle body, power programmer, banks full header exhaust, hotter plugs, and now the sprint booster. What its missing is higher gears. 4.56 or 4.88 is my next mod but Im not sporting that kind of coin right now. Its seems to be around $1400 to $1800 depending on gear brand. Gears would make this thinks pretty awesome I believe.

One more thing, it took me about 15 minutes to do. Its not hard to do its just I have no idea how someone can effectively get their arm and hand in that small area to get to the plug. Maybe if I could have payed down and done it but not on a 4 inch lifted jeep on 35's. I was tweeking my back trying to bend in the correct position to get in there. If you have small thin arms and hands its no problem.

Oh and yes the light does shut off eventually by its self.

Yes.... torque convertor locks up quicker. Shifts gears quicker. The Sprintbooster works especially well in an auto

I was wondering if you need both or one or another.

JP did a thing a while back stating you should use both.

Looking at the superchip, from its description it seems to do the same thing....
