squeaking sound from front end
i just went wheeling for the first time today and after getting home and giving the jeep a good cleaning, there is a squeaking sound coming from the front. it is definitely not suspension related. the squeaking gets faster and louder as speed increases. i can't tell exactly where it is coming from, but it sounds to me like somewhere near the drivers side front wheel (although the sound could be carrying from the driveshaft area as well).
the sound seems to get slightly quieter when i turn right.
i should note that i did one pass through a very muddy and very deep mud pit (i had some of the drain plugs out, and a little bit of mud seeped thru one of the holes and into the interior). but the sound didn't develop until i washed all the mud off. this all happened today, so i suppose it is possible that the sound is related to water getting into something and will go away as it dries out.
is there anything i should look for, or possibly something that needs to be re-lubricated?

I had the same problem last year, it squeeked on accelaration and changed while turning. It was my driving belt pullys, they were a bit bent and sometimes it could be the belt itself. I replaced the belt and sorted the pully and noise dissapeared instantly
it was still noisy this morning, so i took the driver side front wheel off and inspected everything close up. some tiny rocks had wedged themselves between the front brake calipers and the shield thingy that sits on the engine side of the caliper. plucked them out with a thin flathead screwdriver and everything is quiet again.
