Default Squeaky Hard Top

Unfortunately due to sub-zero temperatures in my area I had to put the hard top on. The two panels in the front are constantly squeaking and making all sorts of noise as soon as I get moving. Is there any was to get it to stop? I've tightened the two screws as tight as I can get it

I would take the front panels completely off and try to reinstall them paying close attention tot perfect alignment. How does the weather stripping look? Maybe that got damaged and it's causing it to bounce. Try replacing it

I have the same problem on occasion, Alignment is the key as the last post stated. Mine will leak pretty bad and squeak if the freedom top isn't just right.

Replace the weather stripping and double check the seals. May need to place some thin foam around them

sent while the wife wasn't looking...

Try lubing the seals.

I had this problem with my first JK. turned out to be the little rubber pads had worn out on the freedom panels. easy fix was to get new rubber pads from hardware store and replace. squeak gone. when you pull the panels out, you should see where the pads were.

You may also want to check the 2 torq bolts in the hard top to make sure they are tight.

I'd recommend not tightening down the knobs as tight as you can get them. They should be snug, but not extremely torqued down. Otherwise you risk damaging the panels.

I've run without the knobs for years without leaking or issue--no noise either.

Alittle baby oil will keep the noise away and not stink up the jeep.
