Default Stalled in Water Won't Start

Sorry, I wasn't exactly sure where to post this...

I just got towed out of a puddle that I hit too fast and ultimately had my stall out.

I pulled the air filter, which was wet but not dripping. I cleaned and dried out the box and eventually put the filter back in place.

The jeep will not turn over. It just gives a single click.

Electric works (radio, lights, etc).

Any troubleshooting tips besides letting it dry out (even though it's raining hard here in Phoenix)?

Default Low "Carb" Diet

Mind you checking the air filter is not enough, you need to remove the intake tubing which leads to the carb, Check all the small lines (rubber tubes etc) attached to the intake, Then mix a small amount of gasoline & methylated spirits (aka Denatured alcohol) and slowly pour a small amount into the carb along with other areas that may seem floored... don't over flow.. you just want to vaporize any water which maybe in or around your carb.

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. I'm waiting for the rain to stop to get back out there.

May be hydro locked. Pull plugs to release any pressure and try to turn over.

Yes, everything you described would be a symptom of hydro lock. DO NOT start the motor until you verify that there is not water in there. Drain the oil. If it's milky, then you've got water in the motor. Pull the spark plugs and then try to spin the motor by hand with a breaker bar and socket. If it spins and water comes out, you may be able to save it. If it doesn't turn, then you most likely bent or broke a rod, and the motor is hydro locked.

this would work well if we actually had carbs.
