Standard Offset for 20" in Rims on 35x10 M/Ts

Standard Offset for 20" in Rims on 35x10 M/Ts
Looking for some input from the JK forum family. Planning on either 18 or 20" aftermarket rims that will sit on 35x10 m/t's. Wanted to get some feedback on what would be considered a standard offset with this set up. Lift will obviously be needed and I wanted to get some feedback on the perfect offset for my build. Before you run out and buy the rims, look at the specs on the specific 35x10 tire you want. It will show a recommended rim width range, probably something like 7"-9". Some tire shops may refuse to mount those narrow tires on rims that wide.
Offsets are a bit more difficult to work with, sense they change with the specific rim width. Positive offsets are tucked further in, negative offsets are further out of the wheel wells. Converting to backspace makes it a bit easier. Stock rims are around 6.25" backspace. As that number goes down, the rims/tires move further out the same distance.
A typical recommendation for a 35x12.50 is a 4.5" backspace. On a 10" wide rim, a -25 offset = a 4.5" backspace. So, as far as the recommendation goes, a 10" wide rim with a -25 offset would have a backspace equivalent of 6.25" - 4.50" = 1.75" further out than stock. (see, 1.75" further out is much easier than "a 10" wide rim with -25 offset moves the tires out --- uhh, how far??"

Those tires are narrower, so maybe you could tuck them in a bit more. A -12 offset would be around a 5.0 backspace. A -6 offset would be a 5.25" backspace. (again, that is on a 10" wide rim. Those offsets will equal different backspaces if you choose narrower rims)
