Is a 16x8 steel wheel with duratrac 33s to much weight or stress on a stock x drive line and suspension parts

I run 17x9 on stock axle's and they are fine... and I run a heavier tire for a 33, so you should be fine. Would suggest getting gussets for the C's if you plan on bumping up a tire size and/or adding any lift.
