Default Steering Geometry issue???????

So my Track bar holes were wallowed out, so i wanted to do more than weld washers on the axle end, wanted to strengthen the mount too. So i purhcased the Currie relocation bracket. now that I have raised the location of the TB, and causing the TB to run not parallel with the drag link.
Is this something I need to fix? I know this bracket was designed for more lift, but i shortend the tb, but am just worried that this will cause the steering geometry to get oiut of wack.

Are you getting any bumpsteer? It doesn't look too out of whack to cause too much grief. You could flip the drag link but it looks like it'll be about the same once you're done.

Yea I'm getting a little bumpsteer, and it feels like the handling is off just a bit. I have the JKS track bar back in now, so with that extra bend down at the rod end, its even more off from parallel than the stock tb is in this picture. I tried just putting the tb back into the original mounting position, but because the main currie bracket goes on the inside of the oe bracket, it has made it narrower so the tb won't fit down.

you NEED to install a dropped pitman arm when ever relocating the front track bar. it is the only way to keep both the drag link and track bar parallel to each other.

thanks for the input. until it gets here, is my jeep safe to drive or do i need to park it until the dropped pitman arm gets in?

you can drive it but i would imagine your handling wouldn't be so great.

I was wondering if you talked to Currie about using that bracket with your lift?

It appears that you have 2" of lift and that bracket is from a 4" lift kit (per Currie's website). Parts like that are usually designed for a range of lift.

The same holds true for dropped Pitman arms and drag link flip kits.

No I never spoke with Currie, I have about 2 3/4 up front, I know it wasn't designed for that, but I had to get something to reinforce the mount as well as address the issue with my wallowed out holes, and I didn't just want to weld on washers. Hopefully a dropped pitman arm, found one for 3"+ of lift, will help me out. So I guess if that doesn't do it, ill just have to get the tb mount and all cut off and just start from scratch with haveing a completely new mount added on in the original position. Hope it doesn't come to that.

to the best of my knowledge, with the exception of rancho, all the dropped pitman arms are made by the same company and it will work with what you have on now. the bracket you have is about a 3" correction (2.75" to be exact if i recall correctly) and the dropped pitman arm will be the same.
