Have you replaced the factory lower control arms?

Have someone move the steering wheel back and forth, just in the range of play, while you look at the steering system, from the firewall all the way to the steering knuckles. See where the lost motion occurs.

is it safe to assume you installed a dropped pitman arm with your lift? if so, it's most likely loose or, you have one with splines that don't offer a tight fit. i went through 3 dropped pitman arms before i finally got one with a tight fit.

I have developed some play in my steering as well. Everything is still factory parts. I have checked where the play may stem from, and it doesnt look like it goes into the steering column at all. Could it just be a loose steering wheel? I know that sounds strange, could it be just the wheel that is loose?
I didnt get a chance to mess with it much, but are there just bolts on the inside that will tighten it down?
I used to have a 93 Wrangler with no air bag, so now I am new to the air bag era
