Question Steering Issues

I have a 4dr Sahara. I have had it for about 3 weeks. I never drove it stock-as soon as it came in I put a 3" Tereflex suspension lift and 35" toyo M/T. My problem is the steering seems overly responsive. Not sure if you would call it oversteer but it feels like driving a 4 wheeler on pavement. every move you make the jeep responds.

Do stock jeeps feel this way?

I had a TJ previously and when I had the lift put on I had the same issues. But with the TJ I was able to have it adjusted so it wasn't so sensitive. The dealership said the same type of adjustment does not exist in the JK. Does anyone know what I am talking about? As much as I like my dealership I don't always trust their info.

How do I make the steering less sensitive? Is it adjustable?

It needs a castor adjustment via adjustable arms or cam bolts. You will get used to is somewhat, but it won't be "right" until you make the adjustment. Good luck. Do a search on the forum for more info.

Check your tire pressure. When i had my tires put on the put 38lbs in them and it rode in all the grooves on the road. I aired them down to 29lbs and the difference is unbelievable.

I took it in the day after I bought it to see if they could solve the problem and the did a full alignment and said everything was fine. When they do a full alignment do they adjust the castor?

Do stock jks feel this way?
Is there an adjustment in the steering box like in the TJs?

The only way to adjust is caster is via new adjustable control arms, or cam bolts. Mine isn't that much off from the stock feel. I do plan on getting arms soon though.

I am trying to find that out as well. I am thing Rusty's or Daystar. Bothare adjustable and around $750. I would rather get Full Traction but the price is a bit steep for me.

thank you for the good info. after researching a few sites and reading their descriptions of caster I think you are right on as to my problem.

other than control arms is there anything more that I would need to do to bring the caster positive again? in a previous post someone mentioned cam bolts???

Default Upper or Lower. front or rear Control arms

I found another good thread about caster https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...ghlight=caster.

The question I have now is which arms do I need?

Lower, upper, front, rear. I have read a few posts and most say front lower control arms. Is this all I would need to fix caster problems?
