Default Steering Linkage Upgrade

Hey everyone, so I've been doing some research and I'm aware of the main options out there in terms of Tie Rod & Drag Link upgrades, but I just wanted to hear from some people about the exact parts they chose to go with and what their opinions are. Tie rod/drag link are currently still stock and haven't gone bad yet, but I would like to replace them sooner than later since I know it'll be necessary eventually with the size tires I'm running. Any pros/cons are appreciated!

My upgrade list so far:
-3.5' Rock Krawler X-factor lift with all 8 adj control arms and track bars, with Fox 2.0 shocks w/ external reservoir
- Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer w/ relocation kit
- 37" Cooper STT Pros on 17" Aluminum MB11 wheels
- Teraflex HD Balljoints
- A bunch of other stuff that doesn't affect this upgrade

My jeep is a daily driver, however I still wheel on a rather regular basis, and enjoy pushing the limits. So I'm looking for something that is trail worthy/tested, adjustable while on the Jeep, preferably bolt on, and doesn't completely kill the bank account, thanks!

I have the Synergy drag link and the Teraflex tie rod. I don't think the Teraflex was out yet when I got the Synergy drag link. I've had good luck with both components, both are way beefier than stock. If I was doing it today with whats on the market I think I'd go Teraflex....pretty good beef to $$ ratio.

Both our Jeeps have Steersmarts drag links and tie rods. Our new build also has their track bar.

I wasn't too familiar with SteerSmarts until just recently, I've been hearing lots of good things about them so I'll definitely check them out, thanks!

These are 2 of the main competitors. I was planning to go with RockKrawler to match the rest of my suspension, but it's almost twice the price then all the other top level brands. Thanks for the feedback!

There are plenty of good options, it depends on what/ how you plan to use the jeep. There is no wheeling in VA so it's gotta see more street time than anything. Are you doing a flipped steering to go with your kit?

To their out other options, I have the Rubicon Express DL and RuffStuff TR. Both are good pieces but both have downfalls. I've managed to put a bend in my RS TR so that needs straightening and because I'm not running flipped steering (2.5"), the RE DL contacts the track bar bolt at full left lock. Driving down the road, and on the highway at 80mph, they're both great pieces and I don't have the issues like the synergy that rolls out of alignment if you don't tighten it just right. Both of my pieces are adjustable on the jeep.

I've had the synergy drag link and track bar for about a year. They are great. I liked them so much that I added their tie rod and front lower control arms this week.

They are great products and super beefy. The tilt, or rolling, that you may read about with the synergy pieces has to do with tie rod miss-alignment. It is super easy to adjust, if you happen to end up the a tie rod and drag link that touch, and the more misalignment you have in your drag link and tie rod, the less binding you have in the TREs of the components, and the better off you are.

I am extremely happy with my synergy components.

Happy Jeeping!

I have quite a few teraflex parts and all of them are awesome. I have a ruffstuff 1 ton TR that’s nice but wish I’d gone teraflex. Boots leak on the ruffstuff. I still run the stock Drag link.

How long have have you had the Teraflex ball joints installed? I’ve had a set sitting in the garage for about a year or so. My stockers stilll going strong.

I'm happy with the Synergy Tie Rod, especially for ease of adjust-ability. Mine was floppy, but I switched out the dust boots with the newer low misalignment boot, no more flop, even with hydro assist. I am running a moog drag link, got it for under $75 with a 1 ton end, both ends are grease able and I use the oem adjuster which has held up fine. I dont see the need to drop big $$ on a DL if you have or plan to have hydro assist.

My jeeps is my daily driver so you're correct, about 90% street driven. But I make a few trips to rausch creek each year in PA, and in lucky enough to have access to some private land with trails in VA. So I'd say about 1 solid wheeling trip per month with the occasional beach trips during summer, and other moderate off roading since I enjoy camping/over landing a bit too. Wasn't planning on running flipped steering but it seems I may have to with my size lift.

so all in all, I do wheel my Jeep and would like to use it for the difficulty level associated with the parts I'm adding on to it, but primarily I need it ready to drive to work in Monday. Thanks for the feedback, I'll need to check out RS, had a couple people mention them now.
