Default Steering Question???

Why am I still having steering trouble? I had an alignment and my steering is centered but I still am having steering issues! I have a 2010 with the 4" lift RC and dual stabilizers. Every so often the ESC light comes on and breaks. It feels like the steering is loose?? Could the dual stabilizers have anything to do with it? Please help.

anyway dude, I would start by checking all the points of contact, track bars, control arms and see if anything is loose. Also check your caster on the front, that will give you a nice ride called the death wobble if its bad off.

A 4" lift without new or adjustable control arms had to throw your caster way off.

Good luck

ya i would agree.. retorque to make sure everything is nice and tight and if you dont have adj. control arms then it could be your caster. i experienced a similar problem so i purchased the control arms and it seems good now. i do also have adj. trac bars and i have a 3 in lift.

More info would help...

What are you doing when it comes on? (driving straight? Only after hitting a bump? Turning only one direction, but not going straight? Offramps?)

How does it handle when the light is not on? Stock-like? Flighty? Bumpsteer? (read the "Q: What is caster? how much do I need?" section of the FAQ's)

X2, it sounds like something is loose or out of adjustment

4" is high...

Be sure to have adj. front lower arms. You need at least 5 deg. of caster

At 4" your diff. is not centered. Buy an adj. trac bac. Get rid of the RC trac bar relocation bracket.

when you did the alignment, did it (the alignment shop computer) tell you the steering wheel was centered? I ask cause I had the same issue. I swore the steering wheel was centered...at least it looked it. Then I went back under the Jeep and turned the the rod a slight bit and the problem went away. What looks center and what the Jeep computer is reading may be off

I corrected the steering I think. I used the centering mod on the AEV Procal. I is off ever so slightly. The steering almost feels loose like a slight delay. I wonder if the shocks on the stabilizers have anything to do with it??
