Default Steering stablizer help for a newbie. What do they do?

Hello everyone. What do steering stabilizers do? By the simple looks of it. I'm guessing it provides smother steering and take jerks out of the wheel.

I'm putting 35's on my 2012. I have a 3.5" lift. Do I need a ss? Or will my brand new factory one be ok?

Thanks

Your factory SS will be fine.

I would of never thought. I was about to buy a dual set up. I just want to preserve all my bushings

You're good with the factory SS. If your rig is dialed in it isn't even a necessity. Just masks other issues that can lead to DW.

^^ X2. I usually set my steering geometry without one on my jeep and then put it back on. I run 39" tires and they flat spot like crazy so for the first 10 min after it has set for a couple of days, it will shake your teeth loose.

Your shock on will be fine. Many on the forum have run 35 and larger without one at all. Issues like DW etc are NOT related to this. Much written on this forum about SS. Use your money on other mods. I running 37s on my original SS without issue. Good luck.

As mentioned, your factory stabilizer will be all that you need and, being that you have a 2012, it will be nicer than a lot of the aftermarket options that are out there.
