Default steering wheel esp problem

I recently installed synergy drag link. I didn't flip it because it says you can install flipped or like factory. So I didn't buy the drag link steering correction bracket because my track bar and drag link where still in correct geometry. I tried adjusting but run out of room. So my esp bas. Lights are on but the braking system isn't kicking in at all. Where it is set right now. Which is great. Is it possible to remove the steering wheel itself and straighten it to get the esp bas. To cut off. I've taken it to the shop to see if they could adjust it and they couldn't get it centered or the lights to go off. They said may have to pull the wheel to center it but will the esp light go off. Thanks

You don't want to do that. There is a relationship between the steering gear, SAS(steering angle sensor) and steering wheel. This relationship should not be modified. The steering wheel is keyed so it only goes on one way as is the steering gear coupler; don't mess with this.

Make sure your steering wheel is on correctly, make sure the steering gear coupled properly then "0" the SAS with the drag link. If you need a new or adjustable drag link get one and you will be better off.

Using a scanner to center the wheel is the best way but if you don't have one drive it and correct until the wheel is straight. As long as you get it within a degree or so you should be okay.

It sounds like you may have done an improper installation of your drag link. When uninstalling and installing the drag link, you want to make sure your steering wheel is centered and not turned. Then after the install of the drag link is complete, then you adjust the drag link to tweak/re-center your steering wheel. Before removal you'll want to center your steering wheel, by putting some kind of marker as the steering wheel center reference. I put a piece of tape on the top of the steering wheel and the dash. Your wheel will likely turn during uninstall. After you uninstall you'll then want to make sure your steering wheel is re-centered and then install.

Not doing this properly will typically give you the results you are seeing.
