Default Steering wheel issue

Since installing my lift I have had to recenter the steering wheel 4 times. Not sure why the steering wheel keeps going offcenter (pretty significant amount to). The trackbar is tight and so is its jamnut. My knuckle on my draglink seems to be tight as well. What are some of the reasons why it would just go offcenter while doing mild wheeling?

Is the adjuster sleeve good and tight too? Mark it with a grease pencil and see if you've got any movement there.

It seemed like it was when i readjusted it yesterday. Ill mark it today but is that something that is common the adjuster knuckle moving on its own?

that's what i was thinking, could be the turnbuckle on the drag link is a bit loose. i would double check the clamp bolts on it and if you have one on your track bar, on it as well.

I dont have a knuckle on my trackbar its a jks with the jamnut. Any idea what the torque specs are on the draglink knuckle? Just having a hard time understanding how that knuckle can rotate on its own even if it is slightly (and I do mean slightly cause it was pretty tight) on its own with moderate wheeling. Can it be related to the pitman arm or steering box maybe?

sure, anything is possible. there's always a chance that the splines on the sector shaft is twisting but, i doubt it. if this is happening after wheeling trips, could be your tie-rod got hit and got bent. this is the most common cause for your steering wheel to be off as you would have too much toe in and that would effect the position of your steering wheel.

tie rod and trackbar are the first things I checked. Tie rod seemed to be intact. Guess i have to put a little more elbow grease on tightening that knuckle. I was just afraid of stripping or breaking those smaller bolts.

well, before you go medieval on them, check some of the other bolts that you worked on when you installed your lift and make sure they are tightend to torque spec. a slightly loose bolt can allow for shifting in a suspension component and that can be a potential culprit as well.
