Default Steering Whine

Anyone else's steering box whine when turning slowly on pavement? I know it is the strain from turning the larger tires, but I am wondering if this is the beginning of the end for my steering box. I have been reading some threads on hydro-assist, but I'm not sure I want to take that plunge yet.

Make me feel good and tell me yours whines too! Misery loves company.

I've used lucas power steering additive in the past, to quiet things down. Nothing excessive, just keep adding a little and drive it. Quieted down my notoriously noisy ford power steering setup in my Ranger

I have this issue sometimes. I'm running the rubi tires so it shouldn't be caused by the larger tires. I had the dealer check it out at the same time I was having my clutch replaced and they told me it was nothing, probably b/c all the other work they were doing at the and didn't give a damn... I've had this issue on a previous truck due to a slight leak in the PS pump, and adding fluid would eliminate the noise. Eventually I fixed the leak. I'm yet to find any sort of leak in the PS pump on the Jeep though.

RubyDoo does this whine thing once she has been going for a while, Her case is the filter at the bottom of the PS resivour is getting clogged up. just need to drain her out and clean the filter then put in new fluid according to my Jep Tech Ron.
