Default Stock Front Bumper Question

If you peel off the plastic, what does the front bumper look like? Has anybody done this? I was wondering if it was feasible to use the metal structure under the plastic as a starting point to build a bumper.. maybe skin it with C channel or rect. tubing. Mine is plain, without tow hooks or fog lights.

It doesn't peel off. It unbolts. Look behind each end of the bumper right in front of each front tire. There are two bolts that hold it on each side. Remove those and you'll see what's underneath. A piece of 6X2 C channel would work good. You don't need to "skin" it. Just bolt it on. You'll see how.

Thanks for the info! I've built several bumpers in the past for our ranch trucks, but was concerned about the plastic cover.
