Default Stock intake?

OK, the cai vs snorkel vs drop in discussion has been gone through several times. Several members swear that a drop in high flow filter would do the same as a cai. A lot of the user are respectable guys that give a lot of good info. But I cant get over that tiny air hole that stock is breathing through. It makes me think about doing wind sprints while trying to breathe through a straw. I am planning on doing the MBRP before axle muffler system for added clearance and a bit of a rumble. All my instincts tell me to order a cai. I am thinking the volant since it is a bit more enclosed, even though I rarely run through water more than a foot or two deep. I know that neither of these will turn this v6 into a beast, but I am looking for a bit more throttle response a modest increase in MPG and a nice little rumble. Someone push my one way or the other PLEASE!!

I went with the AEV snorkel... did notice something *not sure if it was the placebo effect*, but nothing to be really trilled... what did change the way that the engine responded was installing the superchips flashpaq.

Good luck

K&N CAI, superchip flashpaq, exhaust, and maybe a re gear. i those are the easiest things to increase power short of a engine swap.

I have read every thread I can find on here about cai. I think I have decided to go for it. I have installed CAI on several other vehicals and never saw any negative effect. If I do just the drop in I will always second guess it. I do plan on doing the superchips flashpaq, but since it is stock I think i will wait till I am closer to the lift, tires and regear before I do that. I will probably never see hood height water and my wife doesnt like the look of the snorkel so that wasnt really an option but thought I would include it in the discussion.
