Default Stock Sahara 18" rims w/no lift - Recommendation?

Hey all,

I want to know what you would recommend for tires. I am currently running the stock 255 70r18's.....but want to get something with a little more bite..but still be somewhat quiet on the road.

What do you recommend and what size would I need?

I want to keep using the same rims....dont want to have to regear and dont want to lift it right now...unless I just do a small 2" lift or something.

Thanks,

Jonathan

You may want to look at the BFG All-Terrain or the General Grabber AT2 if you want a similar ride comfort to what you have now.

Perhaps even the Cooper S/T's?

check out the websites for these tires and select a similar size to what you have now 32" diameter and 10" section width.

Cheers,

You can do a 285/70/18 and should not have any problems.

I put 265/70/R18's GoodYear Wrangler Silent Armors on my 08 Sahara Unlimited and they are great in the snow and on the road, they leave a little to be desired in the mud, but all around a great tire. I have them on 2 trucks and on the JK and love them.

you might be able to squeeze some Toyo M/Ts in there maybe... i just ordered some 33.6" toyos for my stock sahara rims, but i have a 2.5" suspension lift.

33's are teh biggest you can go and you may still get some rubbing at full turn. I recommend spending the extrra $400 and get a budget boost to fit bigger tires. Money well spent.

fwiw, i replaced my stock saraha wheels/tires with 15inch wheels/ 33 inch tires for less money than it would have cost to buy 33inch tires for the stock 18inch rims.
