Default Stroked 3.8

So my 3.8 took a crap, and I'm at the fork in the road.... Has anyone stroked their 3.8L? If so have you had any issues? Debating whether to throw money into stroking it, get a stock replacement, or going to a hemi??? (Hemi is most likely outta the question due to funds). Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Thx

The 3.8 already is stroked. And the cost of doing more to the motor would be very expensive, and yield marginal gains. If you are wanting more power, go forced induction, or do a V8 swap.

Curious how many miles were on the 3.8? And what exactly happened to it?

The 3.8 is already a stroked 3.3

Honestly if a hemi is out of the question for now I'd look for a junkyard engine, or call around looking for spare engines that were taken out of a JK that had a hemi swap done.

Or get it fixed, up to you.

Thought about forced induction, but with that a motor swap it would cost the same as a hemi almost.

A hemi is a lot more expensive than a supercharger.

Even if you did all the work yourself you're still looking at a hefty price for the engine / transmission, and the stuff to get it all in there (motor mounts that need to be welded on, radiator, exhaust, wiring, every little tiny thing that needs to be relocated in the engine bay, etc.

AEV has the kit to do it for what, around $5700, but that doesn't include the engine, or transmission, or labor to put it together (and labor is expensive).
