Default Stubby Bumper Suggestions

I'm making plans for my extremely slow build, and am trying to find just the right front bumper. I'm fairly specific in what I want, and I think I've identified most of my options, but was hoping to find just the right thing based on feedback here.

My ideal bumper:
  • True stubby - outside edges even with the bottom of the grill
  • Integrated factory fogs
  • Low winch mount (I want as much airflow into my grill as possible)
  • Bull bar/winch guard
  • Under $500

I'm right now considering both of the Rough Country bumpers (looks like a can add on a bull bar to the Hybrid Stubby with some modification), the Rugged Ridge XHD, and the Expedition One Basic DX (although with the light mounts, it's wider than I'd like).

I'd love some feedback or suggestions!

Look at CSE Offroad for the Ruuged Ridge before you buy. I've seen package deals for prices you mentioned.

MBRP has a true stubby. A little over $500 but an option.

JCR stubby. $550 total for bumper, shipping and powder coat (bumper, hawse lead and shackles). Integrated factory fogs, recessed winch, nice clean build, light tabs. I'm more than pleased with it. So much so, I ordered their rear dagger and waiting on it now.

My setup has a stinger, but they have a nice bull bar version for the same price, the winch rides a bit higher but they build great stuff

Looks like Or-Fab has some nice options, but am I seeing it right that you either can get fog light holes, or a winch mount, but not both? Would be nice to go along with the sliders I plan on winning in their giveaway!

Will do. Thanks!

It's nice, but too rich for me.

I hadn't considered this one. I'd rather not have to deal with getting it painted or powdercoated, but it's not a deal-breaker.

That's nice! Definitely on the list now.

I like the WARN - I have their rock sliders, but dang! how high that winch sits. I would consider a non-integrated winch with that setup, but it would still block some air.

This is giving me some great ideas. Much appreciated! Keep 'em coming!

Too bad you weren't shopping over the weekend, Ace had 25% off everything except Rigid Dually D lighting

I didn't buy a thing as my bumpers, rock rails are all Ace, and the jerry can mount on my Ace rear bumper with integrated tire carrier

They have a neat new cargo shelf but it doesn't really fit my setup

The JK's do run hot, but to be honest I've not noticed or had any problems due to it sitting that high. I'm sure Warn would have addressed it if it was an issue. Have not heard any complaints as well. One thing to consider is the bumpers with ad on parts that can get way out of your budget. I was looking at one and starting price was under $400. After they additional parts it drove up the cost to well over $800!
