Default Stubby Rear Bumper Benefits?

Hey all. I know for sure I desperately need to have the Shrockworks Rear Bumper, but I cannot decide which one to get.

I understand the benefits of a front stubby bumper: more room for tire travel, less chance of hitting something when off-roading, and it looks 100x cooler.

So what would be good reasons for a stubby rear bumper?

Tube Fenders.

Tube fenders are generally narrower than stock and usually taper in towards the bottom. You don't want a bumper hanging out in the wind that will grab things.

Our Mid Width front has no rubbing issues with even the 37" 's we have on our JK. The stubby front is for the most approach advantage possible.

The rear is as stated, for the even that you want to run tube fenders, cut fenders or no fenders.

Thanks,

Nick

I have their front stubby from Shrockworks, in fact "the" front stubby Jim had on his 4-dr, great bumper looks freaking excellent with the tube fenders on the front, crazy clearance for flex. The rear plastic POS Chrysler bumper doesn't look right now with the rear flatties as you can see in the pic.

You can see here the goofiness of the stock bumper with my flatrear fenders

Here is the Shrocks stubby which I didn't know even existed until ToyFamily just posted and I visited their site:

This is my other option, LOD has a nice bumper that hugs the side, not a stubby but very unique how they tied in:

My original thinking was it'd be good to have some protection aft of the rear fenders for the body...all 6" or so for a 2-dr where you could potentially come down on a rock, BUT it would really hit the frame or rear bumper before it would hit the actual body looks like, hard to say, both bumpers are nice and right now for me it's all about who has what in stock...with a full size spare carrier.

With the rear being a stubby, I would be afrade of killing the rear quarter on a rock/tree or anything else. Unless you put on some AEV rear corner guards on like these.

I like those JKKat, but I don't see how a tree could weasle it's way between the stubby shorcks has, I'd say no more than an LOD or bumper like you have. But I like those corners, really nice your paint is already black.
