Ok so I have front lower and rear upper control arms to install. Front went in and adjusted no problem however when I removed the stock rear arms they measure at 17 1/2" and everyone recommended not going longer than 1/4" past stock. The TF rear arms are shortened all the way and only go to 18 1/2" and that would be too far past the 1/4" recommendation. Any comments or help here?

Who is everyone? I would go by what teraflex says. They are that long for a reason. Call them and tell them your actual lift height or kit you purchased and they will steer you on the right direction

Yeah I called them and they said 18 3/8" in order to get thr right castor for that. Just want to be srue I do this right is it gold end to frame cuz I got these from my buddy and the actual stickers that are on there that the TF guy said to go by are worn off.

Check out this write up, does a good job explaining how to set the arm length.

If the uppers are for the rear. castor isnt an issue pinion angle is. Why did you just get rear uppers unless pinion angle was an issue

The stock rear upper control arms measure 17 11/16" eye to eye. Adjustable rear upper control arms are used to adjust the rear pinion angle in line with the rear aftermarket double cardan drive shaft. You set the angle of the rear axle pinion first and then adjust the upper control arms to the correct length. If you don't have an aftermarket rear drive shaft, you don't need rear upper control arms.

Ok I am def new to this. I have a stock drive shaft And only got both cuz my buddy sold em dirt cheap as a set and I was having that flighty feeling after I lifted and everyone kept saying front lower and rear upper to help. So you're saying just front lower?

Well I replaced the front lower for castor to correct the flighty feeling I was getting. You're saying just leave rear upper and lower stock since I have a stock drive shaft

You do still want to install your adj rear upper arms. Follow TF's instructions that AFPilot put up. Basically, remove your rear upper stock arms. Jack up directly underneath your pinion (front facing section of your diff where the drive shaft connects to) raise until your pinion and drive line are very close to level with each other. Measure the new length for your upper arms and adjust accordingly (extending, not shortening length). If you're saying the new TF arms are too long already, may get your lowers too. Adjusting your pinion does not only apply to after market drive shafts, the eased up angle helps pro long the life of the shaft for those of us running OE shafts with lifts of 3" or higher. The general consensus is, any lift on a 2dr with 3" lift or more WILL need a new rear drive shaft sooner or later. Dialing in your pinion angle will allow you to get more life out of the OE shaft. I'm at 3.75"-4.0" with my OE shafts still.

Ok I have my stock arms bac on because TF said to set their arms at 18 3/8 which is as short as they go. Anyway when I jack up on the pinion to line up the holes for the rear uppers the axle rotates so much u could almost pull the coils right out from under it. I knew that couldn't be right so I put the stock ones back on for now.
