Default Stupid HAIL!

Well with just over 3k miles and got damage already. And it sucks because i didnt get to be the one to do it. Stupid HAIL! So anyway now i have about 25 or 30 dings all over my hood. Im pretty sure paintless dent removal can get them out. Never done it though, any idea how much something like that may cost. Im around Kansas City area.....If it costs enough i debated on going ahead and spending more on a new style hood and paint it. maybe give it a little face lift, the hoods are kinda plain.... the dings arent that noticable on the metallic silver paint, but its new and i dont want hail damage...

any recommendations on hoods while we are at it.

Well if it makes ya feel any better, I had a wet branch fall right in the middle of my hood yesterday while parked. Left a nice 6" long dimple line I'd really like an AEV hood

AEV heat reduction fan myself. If your insurance is covering the hood replacement, you could get it for just the difference in price of hoods.

Hail is nice when it can get you a new hood. AEV hood. Great thing you can order them painted and just bolt on. PDR is nice if you can get someone does a good job. Usually the more orange peel the less noticeable when they push out the dents.

Just replaced stock hood with Rubicon X. Like it a lot. Amazing what it does to the view out the windshield. Not sure where you are in KC. Stomper in Olathe does awesome work. Painted and installed for reasonable $.

Well--surprise!--the price of dentless paint removal goes up when a hail storm passes through town. And there will be all kinds of new shops around doing the work, at least for a few months. Figure it to be about $500--at least that's what mine cost me the second time. The first time it cost me $250 because I found someone replacing their same color hood with an AEV and bought his old one. The third time I said, "Screw it!"

Yes, three times now. This time at least I have a story to tell about the damage, instead of, "It was parked in my driveway" of the two prior times. I was heading to the movies. And the tornado sirens went off. Turned on the radio and there was a very serious (F5 as it would turn out) tornado headed our general direction. Hail. We left the theater parking lot and headed south where a friend (owner of Expedition Outfitters; we were to meet his wife at the theater) got this video of the tornado ...

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=416454668453447 Yes, this is the terrible beast that would strike Stomper and kill all of those kids in that school. :-( I decided to leave the hood as is for now.

I second, third, fourth the AEV hood. I use to hide the jeep from hail. Now I'm thinking I could update some things if it got hit.
