Summer tops
I'm looking for a good summer top that will keep me and my stuff dry for the inevitable rain. I was looking at the quadratop summer combo that quadratec's offering and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this? Does it require additions to it to make the cab completely water proof (like a windshield channel)? How does it compare to bestop's equivalent? Pictures would be great if you got them. Thanks!
The Trektop nx is a great idea. I've run the Bestop combo and its not water tight everywhere and IMO you need the too props if you want it to work really well. The two door version may be better. The four door windjammer leaves a lot of space for water to get in.
Sunblock's gonna be necessary for shirts off o'clock! But yea... Rains what I'm planning for. The trektop nx I like a lot, but I was hoping to be able to use the roll bars for tying down surfboards. Still might go with it, and stick to my short boards in the cab. Effectiveness in rainy conditions is my primary goal tho so if it doesn't work (like I've heard repeatedly with bestop ones) it's not a contender. Anyone have a quadratop that can comment?
Just put my trektop nx on my jku and it's all around great top, live here in north Texas where it's been awful weather the month of may and its been totally water tight, so far very impressed with keeping dry in the rain.

I really like the Trextop NX like the guys mention and will replace when mine goes. On the other hand the factory soft is quite versatile. THat is what I have. You can slide the top back for a sunroof, take out all windows for a bikini top, or take the top down. Some of these after market tops are only replacements that use existing hardware I believe. If you are on a budget you can always find a good deal from a forum member as well.
I also run the Trektop NX on my personal JK and I'm really happy with it. It fits great and is tight and doesn't flap around hardly at all. The Sunrider and bikini features are great. I actually don't even run with the windows in all summer long, I just use the top like a bikini top. Then, on those really nice days when you want to be completely topless, just fold the sun rider back and the Jeep's basically topless and there's hardly any work to do that. The Sunrider is also nice if you area out and the weather is constantly changing form nice to rainy. You can jsut fold the top back and enjoy the nice weather, then you can close it up if it starts to rain or gets cold.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you're interested in the Trektop, we can get it for you at a great price with our JK-Forum discount!
