Dont know if i would ever do it but i was wondering the cons of a super charger? Does the engine over heat and does it reduce the life of the engine? And how much does a complete kit run. Thanks guys

I hate to be like some others.... but this one you'll want to search on. There are numerous threads with people's experiences over several months etc. Just do a search on RIPP and they'll pop up.

I agree, there are some very detailed technical threads on this subject. Just start by SEARCHING for RIPP.

In summary, boosting the performance in any way including a SC is going to place more stress on the engine and driveline parts. The question is how understressed or overdesigned is the 3.8 to begin with.

Some of disadvantages are:

High pitch noise
Lower fuel economy
Cost
Special tunning
