Default Superchargers

This is going to sound crazy, but I haven’t driven my 2011 JK Rubicon (2drs) and I am already thinking about putting a supercharger in it when I get home this March. Is this a good idea? If so, can someone give some advice?

Which brand should I buy and why? I’ve seen many; Hesco, RIPP, Avenger, etc.

What tuner works best with a supercharger?

Should I add headers and a Cold air intake too?

Should I also add a Viper Throttle Body?

Finally, I am also replacing the stock tires with 35s; should I upgrade my gear and to what?

Again, my Jeep has zero “0” mileage…should I wait a couple years before doing anything to it?

Thank you ahead or time for your input.

  • Wow a fellow NY'r - Stop by and we'll show the most popular supercharger on the market for JK's - We're in Staten Island...
  • We've sold over 500 SC kits and are considered the authority when it comes to the break-points on this engine...
  • Assuming you have an automatic trans you're going to want 5:13 gears with the city/highway driving...
  • Our supercharger comes with a Diablo Sport tuner which does all the adjusting needed for the mods you may install...
  • We waited until 1500-2000 miles to SC ours
  • Headers are not a necessity but will deliver more torque and more HP. Don't waste your time with short tube headers, we never say one make any power and they create more problems than they fix.

Up in the upper right hand corner there is a search tab, under it there is advance search, type in RIPP and select heading as an option, there are dozens of clients with installs and their experiences. The kit your interested in is the GEN2 the GEN1 is no longer produced.

Give us a call 718-815-1313 x10

Thank you very much for the quick respond. I wish I could call you, but I am currently in the middle east. But I will call you once I get to NY this March. I have read about your headers and I'm thinking about buying a set; do you have them in black?

I have to ask; is there any military discount on your supercharger and headers?

Thanks,

Default Ripp

I have done a lot of research about the RIPP SC, watched videos about the install as well as videos about fellow enthusiasts giving feedback about drivability, characteristics and throttle behaviour. Although i am not part of the RIPP family as yet I am considering one and fingers cross will make the decision soon.

Looking at the videos and being an engineer (would like to think so) I don't think it is a big job to install, also I like that RIPP is taking care of the flash as well hence no tuning....what I think is an important part as tuning is a tricky business, so no worries with that as it all comes part of the kit.

Thank you very much for your comments. My uncle is a mechanic; I'm pretty sure that between him and I and a six back can do the job, LOL

I've noticed you too have a green jeep, I love that color. Is that an AEV hood? how do you like it? I'm thinking about getting one from Truck Master Designs instead. Wha do you think?

Have a look at RIPP reviews on youtube, plenty available about install, indeed it shouldn't be a problem with the two of you.

Yep, it is a AEV heat reduction hood and AEV snorkel. Both fit perfect and it really differentiate my jeep from others (on 1/2 dozen in the country ). I haven't seen the truck master design, but I will have a look.

cheers.
