it locks to the vin once you set anything on the Jeep...meaning you have to set a Jeep back to stock before you can use it on another Jeep.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread as theres 100s of other superchip threads and dont want to create a new one. I did some searching and i plan on buying a superchip later today from someone on craigslist. If i plug it into my Jeep, will it somehow tell me if its VIN locked to another vehicle? Dont want to get ripped off so want to double check

Yes, when you plug it in it will tell you if its locked to a specific VIN.

The 'return to stock' function only deletes the actual tune. Verify that the current owner has set the tpms, tire size and gear ratio back to stock manually.

Correct. That was just a comment for 'if' you find that it is still VIN locked, and the seller swears up and down that he returned to stock.
