Default Superchip Question

Installed a Superchip and MBRP catback. Mileage dropped from 16.7 to 14.5 (actual calculated). Jeep now seems to shift into high gear too soon..around 40. When accelerater is pushed there is no response until I really push on it. I loaded the Superchip for 87 octane, set gears to 513 and in order to get the speedo right I had to drop the tire size to 32.75 (BFG AT/KO 315s). I have tried the tow setting, 91 setting, have tried different tire size/gear ratio combo and nothing seems to work. Changing the gear setting makes no difference at all. Appreciate any feeback. I plan on calling Superchips this week.

I dont have a superchips flashpaq, and this is why. I've dealt with tuners for my personal vehicles for about 8 yrs. A lot of people think a tuner is simply going to add 30 HP and make the JK a whole new beast. Honestly, I dont see any engine performance gains for the JK with a tuner. Put a tuner on a boosted V8, then you will get your moneys worth. People put a lot of faith/money into a tuner, that as far as Im concerned can't deliver.
A procal is better designed product for the JK and doesnt tease people with promise of power gains etc.

I would check with Ron at Superchips, I have a flashpaq and it does not make mine shift to soon, on the contrary, it has made the shift points work smoother and more in the power band. The Superchips is made for a stock engine setup and should be working better for you. I am sure they will get you on the right road, give em a call.

Mine made a world of difference in performance, and gained almost 2 mpg (manually calc. before and after) with 37's!!

If you update once a month you will be on top of the changes. I only update every 3-4 depending on what I'm doing or where I'm going. Sometimes I will read on this forum a new advancement by them and download it but once you get it tuned how you like it you can pretty much forget it.
